William B. Gow, 84 years of age, and a resident of Lakewood, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at O’Neill Lakewood Assisted Living Facility following a brief illness.
William was born September 4, 1936, in Lorain, Ohio where he was raised and lived until meeting his wife Marjorie and moving to Amherst some 40 years ago.
William worked as a healthcare manager for many years. He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst. William was a member of the Ohio National Guard and was considered an accomplished marksman participating in many shooting tournaments. He loved his annual trips to the island of St. Martins with his late wife Marjorie. He and Marjorie shared an affinity for buying and selling antiques as well. Whenever possible William loved to attend his nieces and nephews sporting events to cheer them on.
Survivors include his sister-in-law, Marilyn Breudigam (Richard) of Westlake and Sue Gow of FL, brother-in-laws John Kruse (Bernadette), and Kenneth Kruse both of Avon Lake, OH and three generations of nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie (nee Kruse); his brother Gerald Gow, Jr.; and his parents Gerald Sr.and Marcia Gow (nee Stevenson).
The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to the nurses and staff of the O’Neill Lakewood Assisted Living and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their compassion and loving care and support of Bill and the family.
Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services which will be held Monday, Nov. 9th, 2020, at 1:30 p.m. at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
