Wilbur Richard Scott, III, 72 years of age, and a resident of Oberlin, OH went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Wilbur proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He retired from years of service at Oberlin College and was a member of Glorious Faith Tabernacle in Oberlin, where he served as an Ordained Deacon.
Wilbur, affectionately known as “Frog”, will be missed by his family, his many friends, colleagues, and others whom he helped and befriended along his way in life.
Survivors include his children, Delanya Miller, Tonya Woods, Sonya Jackson, Wilbur Richard Scott, IV, all of Georgia, and Nikkyia Woods of Florida; his stepdaughter, Latasha Harris of Cleveland; his mother, Mary E. Scott of Oberlin; his siblings, William Scott, and sisters Saundra Alston, Marsha Favors, Karen Roldan, and Sharon Hill; plus many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of twenty-eight years, Luella Owens-Scott; his stepdaughter, Telyta Owens; and his father Wilbur Richard Scott, Jr.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 11 AM at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst.
