Walter “Wally” “Babby” Joe Pruchinsky, 86 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Oak Hill Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, following a brief illness.
He was born March 11, 1934, in Lorain, Ohio where he was raised and lived until enlisting in the Army where he proudly served his country. He had made his home in Amherst for the last fifty-five years.
Wally was employed at the US Steel Mill for thirty years before retiring as a Rigger. He enjoyed playing bingo and watching western shows, especially those featuring John Wayne. Wally loved being outdoors fishing and hunting.
Those left behind to cherish Wally’s memory include his loving wife of sixty-six years Gladys Pruchinsky (nee: Hodge); his children Danny Pruchinsky of New London, Phillip “Randy” Pruchinsky (Deborah) of Florida, Frank Pruchinsky (Marcia) of Lorain, Mark Pruchinsky of Collins, Jeff Pruchinsky of New London and Candice Cortez (Raymond) of Florida; twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Jake and Albert Pruchinsky; and his parents Joe and Alice Pruchinsky (nee: Fazey),
