Veronica “Cookie” Helen Smith, 81 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at her home.
She was born September 24, 1939 in Lorain where she was raised.
Veronica was employed as a sales clerk at the former Petrie’s Department Store for over twenty-five years. You could always find Veronica at her home caring for her cats.
Veronica’s survivors include her six nieces, three nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Robert L. Smith, Marilyn Dietrich and her parents Louis and Mary Smith (nee: Shivak).
Services will be held privately by the family.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Lorain County Animal Protective League; 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
