Timothy B. Krieg, 60 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home in Amherst.
He was born January 29, 1961, in Gallion, Ohio. Tim was raised in the Amherst and Elyria area, graduating from Elyria High School and Lorain County Joint Vocational School in Oberlin specializing in Carpentry. He had made his home in Amherst for the last thirty-six years.
Tim was employed at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain for twenty-three years as the head carpenter. He was also employed previously at Jack Anderson Builders. Tim was a gifted and respected carpenter, a talent he used to design and build his own home. He loved woodworking and crafts, especially making nutcrackers. Tim enjoyed going to Amish Country to observe other craftsmans work and to find inspiration for some of his next projects. Other hobbies included landscaping and being a backyard mechanic. While in high school, he participated on the swim team. Tim enjoyed playing on adult softball teams.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Carol Marie Krieg (nee: Nash); his children, Andrew Joseph (Candis) Krieg of Vermilion, Emily Arin Krieg and Brianna Rae Krieg both of Amherst; his granddaughter, Andelynn Krieg; his siblings, Michael J. (Tami) Marquardt, Denise M. (Dan) Shaffstall, both of Elyria, Cynthia L. (Dave) Zapotosky of Toledo, Bambi L. (Mike) Ehasz, Robin E. (Denise) Marquardt and Harold E. (Pam) Marquardt, Jr.,all of Elyria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ruth Ann Krieg (nee McCall), and by his birth mother, Clara Poole.
A reception for family and friends will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 1 until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 at Harbour Town Community Church; 873 State Street, Vermilion, Ohio. The Rev. Jim Cooper pastor, will officiate.
