Timothy Hartsel Sr. Obituary

Timothy George Hartsel Sr., born on May 10, 1945, in Lorain, Ohio, died peacefully on February 27, 2024, surrounded by family.

Tim grew up in Avon, Ohio, where he started working at the family-owned Standard Oil Co. franchise at a young age and graduated from Avon High School. He then worked several years for NAPA before he and his beloved wife, Nancy, co-founded Lakeshore Tool in 1980, embarking on a shared journey of entrepreneurship. Through his 43 years of relentless dedication, Lakeshore Tool remains a family-owned, community-focused establishment that has made an indelible impact on Lorain County and the surrounding area.

Tim and his wife raised their three children in Vermilion, Ohio, before moving to Elyria to be closer to the family business. Beyond his entrepreneurial spirit, Timothy found joy in life’s simple pleasures. In his earlier years, Tim was a professional drummer and performed with multiple country music legends such as George Jones and Barbara Mandrell. He was passionate about golfing, motorsports, visiting the casino, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Timothy is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy, and their three children: Timothy (Michele), Stephanie (Tony Vienna), and Jeffery (Fiancée Amanda Darienzo). He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Nathaniel (Amanda), Andrew, Austin (Brittany), Zackary, Wes, Holly, and Gage. Timothy’s legacy extends to great-grandchildren Jackson and Josilyn. He is also survived by siblings Carole, Terry (Sheila), and Cathy.

May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
