Telyta Marie Owens

Telyta Marie Owens, 43 years of age, and a resident of Farrell, Pennsylvania, formerly of Oberlin, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021, at UH Elyria Medical Center.

She was born July 18, 1978, in Oberlin where she was raised and lived before moving to Pennsylvania where she had made her home for the last four years.

Telyta received her associates degree from Ohio Business College as a medical office specialist and bill encoding clerk.  She was also employed as a driver with Phil's Taxi.  Her greatest joy was her family and the time she spent with them, especially her grandbabies.  Telyta loved music and was a gifted vocalist.

Survivors include her children, Nautyca Harris of Cleveland, Cynea Harris and Andre Harris both of Pennsylvania; her grandchildren Londynn and A’morah; her siblings, Mario Kirk, Latasha Harris, Kennedy Harris and Zachery Harris; step father Wilbur Scott; paternal grandmother, Mariam Sanders; as well as many treasured nieces and nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Malloy Sanders Jr. and her mother, Luella Scott and step father, Vernon Harris; maternal grandparents, Robert Owens and Bessie Owens and paternal grandfather Malloy Sanders Sr..

Public celebration of life service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 4:00 p.m..at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio.   Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/. The Pastor Bob Wickens of Church of the Open Door, will officiate. 

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family for care of the funeral expenses.
