Roxanne V. Deidrick (nee: Maiden), 80 years of age, and a lifetime resident of Elyria, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Roxanne was born February 4, 1941, in Elyria, where she graduated from Elyria High School.
Roxanne worked as a bank manager for Cleveland Trust, Lorain County Bank and Ameritrust. Eventually she worked for the May Co. department store in sales. Roxanne attended Heidelberg College but her passion was that of being a homemaker. She had a love for many things including needle point, sewing, and knitting. She loved caring for her children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, as well as baking treats for her family like baklava, and cakes. She was treasured by all her family and will be remembered for her many roles such as family historian, organizer, enforcer, baloney detector, caregiver, gardener, babysitter, protector, dreamer, animal lover, and best darn gift wrapper. When she wasn’t cooking or baking she could be found caring for her rescued greyhounds.
She is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Gary G. Deidrick; her children, Tammy Swartz of Elyria, Valerie Davis of Jeromesville, Heather (Brad) Fast of Rittman, Matthew (Kim) Deidrick, and Sarah (Mark) Stanley both of Creston; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; her brothers, Thomas (Susie) Maiden of AZ, Larry (Joanne) Maiden of Elyria, Dan Maiden of Amherst, and her sister, Roberta Deidrick of Creston.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette McMurray in 2021; her brother David, his wife Nancy, and their son Seth; and her parents, Glenn and Roberta Maiden (nee: Freeland).
