Rosemary Vonderau (nee: Cataldo), 80 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Mill Manor in Vermilion, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born March 24, 1942 in Lorain where she was raised, graduating from Lorain High School with the class of 1960. Rosemary had made her home in Amherst for over thirty years.
Rosemary dedicated her life to serving others and was employed as a housekeeper at Golden Acres for over forty years. As a young woman she attended St. Peter Catholic Church in Lorain. Rosemary loved being with family, and traveling through the country, especially to the Amish country and to the beaches of Lake Erie was a favorite pastime.
Survivors include her son, Loren Gray of Amherst; her granddaughter Danika Gray; her siblings, Robert (Pamela) Cataldo of Grafton, Rich Cataldo of Sandusky, Marilyn Saegert of Lorain, Mary (John) Beachler of Amherst and Clara Saegert of Lorain; as well as nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Margaret Cataldo (nee: Solomon); brother in laws Edwin and Eugene Saegert.
Friends may call Saturday, September 24, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 1:00 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home., Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com. Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Lorain, Ohio.
