Richard “Dick” Arthur Pippert, 83 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away May 1, 2023, at Specialty Hospital of Lorain.
Dick was born March 21, 1940, in Amherst and remained an Amherst resident. He was a graduate of Central High School with the class of 1958.
Dick proudly served in the United States Navy after graduation. After being honorably discharged, he was employed as a sheet metal worker at A.V.L. Steel Company before retiring in 2000. Outside of work he played softball for Park Lanes. He also loved hanging out by his pool, riding his Harley Davidson, working on projects, and fellowshiping with friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of 12 ½ years Ruby Pippert (nee: Beltrano); his children, Julie Foisy of Lorain and Todd Pippert of Amherst; his grandchildren, Nicholas Foisy and Kyle Foisy; and his great grandson, Karson Foisy.
He was preceded in death by his sister Darlene Berrington; and his parents, Carl and Velma Pippert (nee: Draga).
Friends may call Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral services will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Paul Werner, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
