Richard married the love of his life Sheryl Joy Ksenich (Stewart) in 1965 and she preceded him in death in 1985; together they had one son Richard Andrew Ksenich.  Richard was a member of Church of the Open Door in Elyria where he faithfully sang in the church choir.
