Raymond William Migra, 93 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, went home to be with his Lord and Savior April 10, 2022, at New Life Hospice following a lengthy illness.
Raymond was born September 28, 1928, in Lorain, and raised there. Amherst has been his home since 1952.
Raymond worked as a machinist and tool dye man for 28 and half years for TRW as a supervisor of the model shop. He was also a previous member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Lorain and a current member of Faith Baptist Church of Amherst since 1990. He served faithfully in his local churches as a Sunday school teacher for 25 years. Outside of church and work, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. He loved to be outdoors and shared his passion for nature with family and friends. He demonstrated his gift of hospitality by opening up his home to those in need. His passion in life was serving God and he was an example of Godly love and service to all that knew him.
Survivors include his children, Mary M. Migra of South Amherst, Kenneth R. Migra of Amherst, and Richard A. Migra of Southern Ohio; sister Joan Sprague of Vermillion as well as his six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by wife of 58 years, Patricia Ann Migra (nee: Libby) on April 29, 2007; by his siblings; brother, Robert Migra; sister, Elenor Vlha and his parents, and Vendel and Mary Migra (nee: Mudrock).
Public Visitation will be held April, 13, 2022, on Wednesday 5 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home of Amherst. The funeral will be held the following day, Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. at Hempel Funeral Home of Amherst. The Rev. Steve Butler, associate pastor of Faith Baptist Church of Amherst will officiate. Burial will take place at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Avon.
