Phyllis J. Pfeiffer, 98 years of age, and a resident of Wesleyan Village in Elyria, passed away Sunday, May 21, 2023 to be with our Lord and Savior following a full and meaningful life.
She was born October 1, 1924 in Euclid, Ohio. Her father, Gus had moved his family from Hamilton, Ohio while looking for work. He was a safe builder. A large part of Phyllis’s family remained in the Hamilton area whom she loved to visit often.
Phyllis was employed by the Davy McKee Corporation, a builder of steel mills around the world, for 33 years where she handled payroll and tax reports for the field employees. She belonged to Shore Haven Lutheran Church in Euclid. Phyllis loved to travel, especially to visit her cousins and their families around the country. She likes to keep her mind sharp with brain teaser puzzles and trying new things like color pencil art, knitting and crochet. She loved all forms of music and enjoyed playing her organ or keyboard for herself and loved ones. Phyllis was also an avid reader of history and mystery in old and new books.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gustave and Julia (Sinner) Pfeiffer and her brother Paul Pfeiffer.
Left to cherish her memory are her Godson Craig Sweet, his wife Dorene of Amherst, Ohio and their children Christopher and Casey along with Gilbert Sweet who resides at Wesleyan Village, Elyria.
