Phillip Noel Jeffries, 49 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born July 23, 1957 in West Virginia. Phillip and his family moved to Elyria when he was in 2nd grade. Amherst has been his home for the last eight years.
He was employed with the IGA in Olmsted Township for five years as a produce manager. Phillip enjoyed spending time with his family, going to garage sales, fishing, baseball, and basketball.
Survivors include his wife of fifteen years, Kimberly Lynn Jeffries (nee: Hicks); his son Kurtis Jeffries at home; his daughters Demetria Jeffries of Vermilion, Megan Jeffries and Sadie Jeffries, both of Elyria; his mother Yvonne Jeffries (nee: Rhodes) of West Virginia; his grandson Gavin Russell; his brother David Jeffries of South Carolina; and his sisters Connie Cummings of West Virginia and Christine Wysocky of Lorain.
He was preceded in death by his father William Jeffries in 2000.
Friends may call Monday, May 7, 2007, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Rev. James Deulley, pastor of Elyria Foursquare Church, will officiate.
