Paul Richard Hiltabidel

It is with great sadness that we relate the passing of Paul Hiltabidel of Lorain, Ohio on Monday, June 13, 2022, from complications of COPD and CHF.  He was born in Connellsville, PA on March 19, 1950, and was 72 at the time of his passing. 

Paul was a member of the Marion L. Steele High School class of 1968.  He and his wife Carol were together for over forty-eight years.  They had their first date on Thanksgiving in 1973, and were married the following Easter in 1974.  Paul was a retiree from Nordson Corp. in Amherst, Ohio in 2012, after forty-two years.  During those forty-two years, he also served as the Business Agent for the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in the Northwest district.  He was proud of his time with both organizations, and deeply valued the people he met along the way.  It could be said that he made friends wherever he went.  One of his favorite places was the bench in Walmart where he would wait for Carol to finish her shopping.  It was there he could be found visiting and making acquaintances with any number of people.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Carol Hiltabidel of Lorain; his sons, Michael Hiltabidel (Rachel) of Lorain, and Keith Hiltabidel of Amherst; the apple of his eye, his grandson, Henry Hiltabidel of Amherst; as well as his most favorite person, Gaby Tomaszewski; and his four-legged grandbabies, Roscoe and Sheldon. 

Paul was preceded in death by his father and mother, Gilbert and Ruth Hiltabidel; his brother, Gail Hiltabidel; and his daughter, Kristin Hiltabidel.

A Life Celebration will be held at the Sandstone Hall, 113 South Lake Street, Amherst, Ohio on July 10, 2022, from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m.  Bring your best stories to share.  A buffet lunch will be served.
