Patricia Ann Heberling (nee: Shaw), 90 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic of Avon, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born January 2, 1931, Sewickly, Pennsylvania where she was raised. In 1964, Patricia came to Lorain where she had made her home in the Lorain County area until her passing.
She worked alongside her husband in the Heberling Law Office as a Legal Secretary for many years. Patricia was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst. She loved golfing with her husband and traveling extensively nationally, as well as internationally. She especially enjoyed her time spent in England, and Paris, France. She loved being a mother, and her grandchildren brought her great joy. Patricia was an avid reader and enjoyed the occasional trip to the casinos.
Survivors include her husband of seventy years, Judge Martin Mathias Heberling of Amherst; her children Marlene Burt of Wisconsin, Martin M. Heberling Jr. of Elyria, Douglas Heberling (Jane) of Henrietta Township, eleven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; her brother Dennis Shaw of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by her son Michael Heberling in 2014; her sister Sally Shaw; and her parents Robert and Elizabeth Shaw.
Friends may call Friday, December 10, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.
