Nancy Ann Shade, while surrounded by her family, went to be with her precious Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Abbewood Assisted Living in Elyria, Ohio.
She was born in Pottstown, PA, on January 6, 1937, to Annabelle (Swartz) Hoppe and William Daniel Swartz. She graduated from Pottstown High School in 1955. Nancy was married on June 9, 1957, to Robert A. Shade. God blessed them with 64 years together. She resided near Pottstown, PA for over 70 years before Bob and she moved to be with their daughter and family in Wisconsin in 2008, with a subsequent move to Ohio in 2020.
Nancy trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior in her late twenties through the witness of dear friends from Limerick Chapel. She demonstrated the gift of hospitality and enjoyed cooking delicious foods for those she loved. Nancy was especially known for her pies and cakes. She loved to serve selflessly and care for her family, friends, and those in need around her, paying close attention to the details of their lives so that she could encourage them through conversation, gifts, and faithful prayer. Nancy dearly loved her grandchildren and great granddaughter and was immensely proud of each of them. In her later years, members from both Calvary Baptist in Pottstown, PA and Calvary Baptist in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, cared for her in faithful ways.
Nancy is survived by her loving and faithful husband, Robert A, Shade; their daughter, Jeniffer (Jonathan) Jenks; grandchildren Robert (Alyssa) Jenks, Joshua Jenks, and Abigail Jenks; great granddaughter Alayna Jenks; sister in law, Barbara Swartz; a niece and nephew; as well as siblings Debbie Queeney, Diane Salerno, Danny Swartz and Sandy Skladany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving brother, William M. Swartz, Sr.
