Nancy Lee Poorman

Nancy Lee Poorman (nee: Schellhammer), 79 years of age and a resident of Amherst passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023, at New Life Hospice in Lorain following a brief illness.

She was born January 11,1944, in Altoona, PA. where she was raised and lived.She moved with her late husband to Ohio in the early 60s, eventually residing in Amherst in her later years until her passing.

Nancy worked most of her career as a human resource manager for Revco.  She loved her family especially her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and camping at Berlin Heights Holiday Park and Shaun Acres. She also enjoyed camping with her family at the annual family reunion camping trip over every Fourth of July weekend. Her family will always remember her as a caring woman, full of love for others.

Survivors include her children, Rhonda Daugherty (Jim) of Amherst and Rick (Judy) Poorman of Huron; her grandchildren, Joe Milks, Shay (Bee) Volkens, Ryan Poorman (Jessica Henry) and Brandon Poorman (Chelsea Rogers); several great grandchildren; her siblings Shirley Waite, Evelyn Croftcheck, Sandy Bush and Judy Stoltz.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years Ronald C. Poorman; several siblings; and her parents, Francis and Anna Mae Schellhammer (nee: McIntyre).

Friends may call Friday, September 22, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.
