Mildred “Millie” Jean Mlinarik (nee: Martin), 91 years of age, and a lifetime resident of Amherst, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 18, 2023, following a full and blessed life.
She was born March 30, 1932, in Amherst, where she was raised, graduating from Amherst High School with the class of 1950.
Millie's greatest joy was found in her roles as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was employed as a secretary at Amherst High School for many years. Millie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lorain where she was active with the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Amherst Fire Department and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries. Millie loved to sew, especially making clothes for her daughter’s doll that have been passed on to her grandchildren. She loved the holiday’s; cooking and baking for family and friends.
Survivors include her loving husband of seventy-one years, John D. Mlinarik; her children, Debra Glorioso (Joseph) of Huron, Lawrence Mlinarik (Susan) of North Carolina and Daniel Mlinarik (Sherry) of Kentucky; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Catherine Martin (nee: Brown).
Friends may call Friday, September 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12:00 at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. The Rev. William Mugnolo, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
