On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Michele “Chele” Ann Kossow — a loving wife and mother — passed away at the age of 54 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a sudden illness.
Michele was born September 20, 1966 in Kansas City, Kansas. Her family settled in Ohio when she was young. She attended school in South Amherst and graduated from Lorain County Community College. In 1992, Michele married her soulmate, Michael Kossow. They began their adventure in Chicago where they lived for four years, before moving back to Amherst where they established their loving home.
Michele’s spirit and zest for life will be missed but lives on through her children. Her sense of adventure led her family on many great discoveries. Whether as simple as finding new places to eat or as extravagant as coordinating an entire family vacation, Michele was the love that made each experience extraordinary.
Michele’s sense of humor was infectious and she saw the silver lining on every dark cloud. She delighted in playing practical jokes on her family and sharing embarrassing stories. She made sure her house was filled with laughter and warmth.
Michele loved entertaining and opened her home to a large gathering of friends and family regularly. She also made a special place in her home for her beloved and numerous dogs, Toulouse, Marley, and Bindi. She was a tremendously gifted cook who enjoyed sharing her talents with her children. The whole family loved spending time together whether at home or on one of their many adventures.
Michele is survived by her loving husband of twenty-nine years, Michael K.H. Kossow; her children Paige Kossow, Mackenzie Kossow, Colin Kossow, Isabel Kossow and Lillianne Kossow; her parents Richard J. and Mary Ann Pool (nee: Michael) and her sister Malla Mizikowski.
The Family will hold a celebration of Michele’s life at a later date for friends and family to gather and reminisce.
