Michael S Schultz

Michael S. Schultz, 43 years of age, and a resident of Amherst Township, passed away  Friday, November 4, 2022 at Larchwood Care Center in Cleveland following a long battle with ALS.

Michael  was born September 5, 1979, in Lorain, and graduated from Amherst Steele High School.  He obtained a bachelor of science degree in biology from Bowling Green State University.  He went on to pursue his masters degree and nearly completed his thesis before he was struck with ALS.  Michael was fun loving and had a very subtle sense of humor, mischievous at all times, and always had a twinkle in his eyes.    He will be greatly missed by his family who cared for him for eleven years. 

Survivors include his mother Susan Schultz (nee: Harrison); his siblings, Susan (Wilson) Deschine of St. Michaels, AZ,Ron Schultz of Elyria,  Keith Goins of Amherst, Dan Goins of Carlisle Twp., Doug Schultz of Cedar Hills, UT, Susan, Nicole (Gerardo Zuniga) Cobb of Amherst, Regina (Scott) Beatty of Highland, UT; and many nieces and nephews. 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Schultz. 

Friends may call Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 1 pm until the time of the service at 3 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3501 Kolbe Rd., Lorain OH 44053.  Burial will be held privately by the family. Bishop James Guthrie will officiate.   

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Northern Ohio  Chapter of  the ALS Association, 6133 Rockside Rd # 301, Independence, OH 44131.
