Michael William Hamm, 69 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born November 28, 1950, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Michael was raised in Amherst graduating from Marion L. Steele High School in Amherst with the class of 1969.
He was employed at Invacare Corporation in Elyria for thirty-eight years before retiring in 2009 as a Supervisor in the maintenance department. Michael treasured taking annual trips with his family to Canada to the family cabin where he loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed his vacations to North Carolina. Michael was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Most of all He loved spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his sons Matthew Hamm of Wakeman, Jacob Hamm of Amherst; his father William F. Hamm of Worthington; his grandchildren Connor Hamm and Mason Hamm; as well as his siblings Terry Hamm of Westerville and Betsy Bass of Worthington.
He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Pallenbarg; and his mother Harriett Hamm (nee: Carlson).
