Mary Belle Golden (nee: Buchanan), 79 years of age, and a resident of Birmingham, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born August 27, 1943, in Warren, Kentucky, where she was raised and lived until the age of 19. Mary eventually made her way to South Amherst where she has lived for forty two years before moving to Birmingham where she had resided until her passing.
Mary’s primary focus in life was that of being a homemaker. She loved caring for her family, especially cooking meals for all to share. She invested her time volunteering at community events within her area. Mary enjoyed gardening, and took great pride in making sure everything was tended to properly.
Survivors include Mary’s children, Herman Perry (Joni) Golden of Birmingham; Patricia (Les) Johnson of South Amherst; her grandchildren, Douglas Golden, Nathan Caroll, and Leslie (Jeff) Caskey; and her great grandchildren, Savannah and E.J..
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Jackie Golden on January 27, 2008; her son, Jackie "George" Allen Golden on April 27, 2008; seven brothers and seven sisters; and by her parents, Charles and Grace Buchanan (nee: Logan).
Friends may call Monday April 24, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 11 a.m. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
