Lukas Cole Wilhelm was born on December 8, 1983, in Elyria, Ohio. He was a resident of South Amherst, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
Luke was a graduate of Firelands High School and also attended the Culinary arts program at Lorain County Joint Vocational School. Luke's true passions was cooking, but he also enjoyed outdoor activities, camping, hiking and fishing. He especially loved music. Luke loved his son with his whole heart and soul. He wanted nothing more than for Logan to know that his dad was always present at his sporting events, encouraging him to strive to do his best.
Survivors include his son, Logan Wilhelm; his mother, Jane Rich (nee: Snell); his stepfather, Thomas Rich; and his nephew Kaden King and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Wilhelm in 1995; his sister, Stacy Wilhelm on March 1, 2014; his maternal grandparents, David and Agnes Snell and his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Mary Wilhelm.
Public visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, Nov. 18th, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, Ohio. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 11 am at the funeral home. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com.. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O’Connor, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst Township.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the family for the continued care of his son Logan.
