Luella Scott Obituary

Luella Scott (Owen's) was born March 22, 1957 in New London, Ohio. She was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Owens and Bessie Owens (Hall).

Luella accepted Christ at an early age and practiced the Christian faith throughout her life. Learning the teachings of the word by reading her bible with her husband which was one of her favorite ways to pass time.

Luella was raised in Oberlin, Ohio where while growing up she attended Oberlin high school. She then went on to build her own family by having two beautiful daughters (Telyta Marie and Latasha Lynn). A few years later she married the love of her life Wilbur Rick Scott. Through this union Luella gained one step son and four step daughters. She always looked at Oberlin as a place to raise her family, a place to call "home" where she really enjoyed spending time and making memories with the ones she loved.

During her adult life, Luella enjoyed loving and experiencing life with her husband Wilbur R. Scott of 28 years. Luella enjoyed, more than most, to kick back in her recliner next to (Froggy) in his. Whether eating dinner or watching their favorite tv shows or rooting for none other than the Pittsburgh STEELERS! Being in the living room next to her husband was her favorite place to be. Luella always enjoyed taking exceptional care for her husband, daughters, family, friends or anyone in need of her love and prayers. Decorating her home full of pictures of her family from wall to wall gave her peace to see them every day. Luella brought joy to herself by reading her bible and collecting Angel's for each of her family members that she held so dear to her heart and loved, even though Luella was actually that angel to her family. But first and foremost what gave Luella her most fulfillment in life was that of raising her two daughters Telyta and Latasha and watching them grow and blossom into beautiful women themselves.

Luella also carried a special bond with each of her siblings, from shared jokes and laughs with her brothers, to long chats with her sister Lois or dinner dates with her sister Maggie, and the bond she shared with her sister Betty spending time sharing secrets and keeping promises, could not top the many nights they spent watching their favorite movie (the 5 heartbeats). Through these sibling bonds grew a special love for each of her nieces and nephews.

Luella was a dedicated family woman and friend. Nearly everyone that crossed her path became a loved one in some form or fashion. With A helping hand, a tender smile, a gentle touch, a soft-spoken word, and a loving heart, Luella was always there to do her part! She was often called many things but her all-time favorite was the nickname (meemaw) given to her by her grandchildren but adopted by many others! She wore this name with pride. Because nothing gave her more pride than her 17 grandchildren.

Our beloved Luella was a doting daughter, devoted wife, an unselfish angelic mother, a loving grandmother, a beautiful sister, a caring aunt and a wonderful friend.

Luella departed this life suddenly August 3, 2020 . Preceding her in death were her parents, Robert and Bessie Owens; one brother Michael Hall and one sister Lucy Owens.

She leaves to cherish her memory a loving and devoted husband, Wilbur R. Scott III; two beautiful daughters Telyta Marie Owens and Latasha Lynn Harris one step son Wilbur R. Scott IV, four step daughters Sonya Jackson ,Tanya woods, Delanya miller and Nakiya woods. Her seven grandchildren Nautyca Harris, Jessuh Williams, Damarjae Williams, Cynea Harris, Andre Harris, Jamyis Williams and Anajah Williams,10 step grandchildren Jalen Jackson, Lauryn Jackson, Kierra Jackson, Camille Scott, Claire Scott, Jillian miller, Cameron miller, Ja’lyn Anderson, Sahnii-A’Lyn Anderson and Xzavion Anderson . Her siblings; Robert Owens, Roy Owens, Leon Owens, Donald Owens, Thomas Baldwin, Maggie Aebisher (Owens), Lois Evans and Betty Witherspoon and host of nieces and nephews.
