Lucille Peggy Trelka (nee: Buganski), 95 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away October 7, 2021, at UH following a brief illness.
Lucille was born August 23, 1926, in Lorain where she was raised, graduating from Lorain High School in 1944. Lucille has resided in Amherst for the last 64 years in the home built by her husband where they first moved as a young couple. She was an active member of St. Joseph Church prior to her attendance at St. Stanislaus. She served on the Altar Rosary Society for 30 years at St. Joseph Church and served in the cafeteria at St. Joseph Schools. She was also a CCD instructor and worked in the box office of the Workshop Players as an administrator.
Survivors include her sons, Bob Trelka of Amherst, James Trelka (Michele) of Brookfield; her daughter, Kathleen Dudzik of Oak Harbor; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; her brother, Ken Deminski (Judy) of Elyria; and her sister, Geraldine Sandors of Lorain.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years Edward Trelka; her children Gary Alan Trelka and Karen Marie Krajeski; her grandchildren, Christina Dudzik and Holly Dudzik; her step dad, John Deminski;her brother Don Buganski; her sister Joann White; and by her parents, Frank and Josephine Buganski (nee: Gerron).
Family and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held on Tuesday, Oct 12, 2021, at 2:30 p.m.at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Amherst, Ohio. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/. The Rev. Timothy O'Connor, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
