Louise Marie Plow (nee: Wiegand), 71 years of age, and a resident of Maumee, formerly of Amherst and Troy, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee, following a lengthy illness.
Louise was born August 6, 1948 in Vermilion. Louise was raised and lived in Amherst before moving to Troy, Ohio. She had made her home in Maumee for the last eight years.
Louise was a loving wife, mother, and Granny. Louise was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Troy where she was awarded the Triniteer of the Year. She was an advocate for Troy where she volunteered on various Strawberry Festival committees. Louise loved being a mom to all the players on her daughters’ sports teams and cheering for everyone from the stands! She loved sewing and creating her daughters’ prom dresses, as well as sewing bridesmaids’ gowns for each of their weddings. Louise cherished being called Granny by her grandchildren Trent, Reid and Harper. She shared her love of baking, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She was always in the audience for the grandchildren’s school and athletic events.
Survivors include her husband of nearly fifty years, Daniel Wayne Plow; her daughters Karen Stauffer (Ross) of Bel Air, MD and Emily Slaght (Chris) of Holland, OH; her grandchildren, Trent Stauffer, Reid Stauffer, and Harper Slaght; her siblings Michael, James, Peter, Timothy, Barbara DeFelice, Christine Sarvas, Kathryn Gargasz, Margaret Kent, Elizabeth Sauer, and Anne Olsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Ethel Wiegand (nee: Benko).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held Saturday, July 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. Private funeral services will be held by the family. Rebroadcasting of services will also be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com. The Fr. Louis Thomas, of St. Andrew’s in Norton, OH will officiate.
