Louella Wyckoff (nee: West) 83 years of age, and a resident of Henrietta Township, was called home to be with her Lord Thursday, February 11, 2021, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Louella was born January 19, 1938, in Middlesboro, KY where she was raised until moving to Henrietta Township where she had made her home for the last sixty five years .
Louella was a clerk for Henrietta Packing Company where she worked for 19 years. Prior to that she worked at Majestic Molding in Elyria for 10 years. She attended Midway Baptist Church. She loved quilting, baking, cooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Wyckoff of Henrietta Township; and her son, Dale (Donna) Wyckoff of Amherst; her granddaughter, Megan Wyckoff; her brother, Clarence West of Norwalk; her sister, Betty Sue (Bobby) Jones of Elyria; and her sister-in-laws, Betty West of Lorain, and Betty Mekoleski of LaGrange; and Moe Wyckoff as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-five years Dewey Wyckoff; siblings, William West, Juanita McGarvey, Thelma Grubb, and Thomas West, as well as an infant sister, Oma Mae; and her parents, Alonzo and Flora West (nee: Cox).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held at Hempel Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021, in the afternoon and evening by reservation at https://signup.com/go/rCvROHe or by phoning the funeral home at 440-988-4451 during business hours of 9-5. Services will be held Thursday morning at the funeral home, again by reservation at https://signup.com/go/rCvROHe. The Rev. Charles Keesee, pastor emeritus of Midway Baptist Church in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst, Ohio.
The family wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to members of the Cleveland Clinic Hospice, to Marvin Brown and Lisa Gilbert of Elyria, Harry Hatten of Vermilion, and Kenny and Cheryl Todd of Henrietta Twp., all who showed tremendous compassion to their mom during her illness.
