Lois Annette Tate, 66, of Elyria went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
Lois was born April 12, 1957, in Amherst and spent most of her adult life in Elyria. She worked as a registered nurse for 35-plus years after studying at Lorain County Community College and Indiana Wesleyan University. She recently moved to the home of her daughter Jessica in Litchfield.
Lois had a compassionate and giving heart. She cherished her family and friends, as well as her pets, Ollie the dog and Charlie the cat. She was happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, whom she loved to shower with gifts and affection. She also enjoyed traveling and visiting with people.
She was a devoted Christian and volunteered for the church for years in children’s ministry and outreach programs. Her faith was unwavering, even in the face of adversity. No matter where she was, she would engage in conversations about the Lord and her family.
Survivors include her children: Brian (Rachel) Salata of Lakewood, Gwen (Matt) Salata of Fort Myers, FL, Jessica (Joel) Salata of Litchfield; grandchildren, Connor, Ava, Chase, Zack, Mya, Lincoln, Juliette and Madison; her sister, Pam (Bruce) Weiland of Elyria; and her nephew, Josh Weiland.
