Lois Carol Manes, 88 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at Independent Village in Avon Lake following a full and meaningful life.
She was born February 1, 1933, in Amherst where she was a lifetime resident, graduating from Central High School with the class of 1951.
Her greatest joy in life was found in her ministry of being a wife and mother. Lois was also a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Amherst where she worshiped and served regularly alongside a small intimate circle of friends whom she cherished.
Survivors include her sister Phyllis Darakas of Amherst as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years Orville James Manes in 2015, her children Jay Paul Manes in 1999, Carol Manes in 2010, and Kay Trinemeyer in 2014; her siblings Roy Beesing, Robert Beesing, Norma Streicher; and by her parents Leonard and Mary Beesing (nee: Pippert).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 115 Central Dr., Amherst, Ohio from 10 am until the time of services at 11 am. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/. The Rev. Paul Werner, pastor, will officiate. Burial will take place at Brownhelm Cemetery, Vermilion, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Amherst, Ohio.
