Lloyd Otis Myers, 73 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior November 5, 2020, at Rae Ann Suburban of Westlake following a lengthy illness.
Lloyd was born October 3, 1947, in Uniontown, PA where he was raised until entering the US Army. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Army Lloyd made his home in Cleveland before moving to Amherst in 2002 where he remained a resident until his passing.
Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Vietnam War. For his service he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam service Medal with two bronze stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, as well as the Purple Heart for injury received from a land mine. Lloyd worked as a press operator for General Motors for 11 years. He was a graduate of Tabernacle Baptist Bible College of Greenville, SC. Lloyd loved serving the Lord and was involved in pastoral ministry in West Va. for four years and later enjoyed serving the Lord while a member at Tower Baptist Church in Lorain.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years Martha Sue Myers (nee: Linville): his children Julia and Kenneth Wilson of Parma, Craig and Anna Myers of Strongsville; two grandchildren Madeline Myers and Betsy Myers; and his brother Regis Myers of Lorain.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd E. and Garnet Myers (nee: Dwyer).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held at Tower Blvd Baptist Church 1313 Tower Blvd, Lorain, OH 44053, Saturday afternoon, November 7, 2020, prior to funeral service. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
