Linda Moore Obituary

Linda Mae Moore (nee: Hevener), 68 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away  September 7, 2021, at The Woods on French Creek following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Since her birth on June  25, 1953, Linda has been a resident of Amherst, graduating from South Amherst High School in 1971.   

Linda was a member of Nativity B.V.M of South Amherst and was a faithful supporter of the ministry. She was employed as an administrative assistant at LEECA/ Connact for 25 years. Outside of work, she was active with softball both as a parent and as a coach. She was an active part of her daughter’s softball career and supporter of her husband’s coaching role. She also helped coach softball at LCCC for 12 years and was both a member and a president of the Ohio Girls Softball Organization for 25 years. When not coaching or working, she and her husband loved to travel with family and friends to Hilton Head, SC, for their regular vacations. 

Survivors include her husband of 45 years, David E. Moore III; her children, Brad Moore (Lesley) of Birmingham and Susie Moore (Dr. Matthew Stempowski) of Avon Lake; her brother, Dennis Hevener (Kristi) of South Amherst, and her sister, Dianne Beko of Amherst. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert C. and Margaret E. Hevener (nee: Vilagi).

Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 12 from 6-9 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. Funeral mass will be held the following day, Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity BVM Church in South Amherst.   Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/. The Rev. Fr. Timothy O'Connor, pastor will officiate.  Burial will take place at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Amherst.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the LCCC Athletic Department.
