LeRoy Stuart Lovelace, 90 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away April 25, 2022, at Mercy Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
LeRoy was born December 3, 1931, in Detroit, MI. where he was raised. In 1964, he moved to Amherst where he remained until his move to Elyria in 2000. Elyria has been his home since that time.
LeRoy worked as an air traffic controller for the FAA for over 30 years, until retiring in 1981. He also worked as a bus driver for Clearview Schools. LeRoy also proudly served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He loved going to the beach; however, his greatest joy in life was his family.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-nine years, Pauline Lovelace (nee: Celeskey): his children, Paul Lovelace (Lisa) of Dacula, GA, Michael Lovelace of Elyria, David Lovelace of Vermilion, daughters, Karen (Jeff) Sebastian of Lorain, Catherine Napolitano of Monroe, NJ, and Anne (Jonathan) Kirk of Lorain; his nineteen grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son Mark Lovelace; his daughter Emily Lovelace, his brothers, Morland Lovelace and Donald Lovelace; and his parents Frank and Edna Lovelace (nee: Kaminski).
Service will be held privately by the family at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
