Kenny R. Todd, 63 years of age, a resident of Henrietta Township, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain, following a brief illness.
He was born March 12, 1958, in Amherst. Kenny was a lifetime resident of Amherst, graduating from Firelands High School with the class of 1976.
Kenny was employed as a pipefitter at Ford Motor Company in Lorain for thirty years before retiring in 2006. He was a provider, protector, leader and mentor for his entire family with strong morals and values. Kenny’s primary joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and taking care of his family and friends. Kenny was a member of the NRA, Vermilion Fish and Game and a member of Totally Engaged Americans. He had a true love for freedom and his country. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, scuba diving and he enjoyed being a true jack of all trades. He led a servants life helping others using his skills and wisdom.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years Cheryl L. Todd (nee: Baumann); his children Shannon (Nate) Ollis and Stacy (Colton) Smith both of Amherst; his grandchildren Justin Ollis, Brooklyn Ollis and Brady Smith; his sisters Trish Perkins (Ray) of Maumelle, AR, Debra Hoerig (Brad) of Versaille, KY and Dianna Sterna (David) of Amherst and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Peter Ray and Ella Mae Todd (nee: Silvers).
Friends may call Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 5-7 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Additional calling hours will be Thursday, January 13th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Joel Zaborowski, pastor of Freedom Baptist Church, Amherst will officiate. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com .
