Kaye “Kay” Frances Faight, 80 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 28, 1940 in Portsmouth, Ohio. Kay had made her home in South Amherst since 1963.
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Kay loved all family gatherings with the children, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. She was a member of South Amherst United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included tole painting woodworking, sewing, landscaping and tending to her garden. She loved shopping with her family which was an all day event.
Survivors include loving husband of 60 years David E. Faight; her children David C. Faight, Christine “Kristi” (Dennis) Hevener, Jane (John) Chomet all of South Amherst and Jennifer Faight of Linden, North Carolina; her grandchildren Kaitlynne (Jason) Leimbach, D.Christopher Hevener, Cassandra Chomet, Lindsay Chomet, Wesley Loffert, Darby Loffert, Lydia Loffert; her great grandchildren Bryson and Callum; her siblings Norman (Sheila) Hall, Marion (Sandy) Hall, Mark (Kerry) Hall and Constance Hall.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Richard Hall and Keith Hall; sister-in-law Rose Faight; brother-in-law Frank Criss, niece Jody Jett; great grandson Grayson Zachary Leimbach; and her parents Richard and Opal Hall (nee: Wilburn).
The family would like to thank the Cuyahoga County Visiting Nurse's Association for all the wonderful care provided to Kaye during her illness, especially Jenny, Jennifer, Karla, Judit, and Dave.
Services will be held privately by the family with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
