Kathryn “Lucile” Hall (nee: Zuspan), 89 years of age, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Kingston Residence of Vermilion, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born April 8, 1934 in Henrietta Township. Lucile was a lifetime resident of Amherst.
She was employed at the Amherst Public Library for many years as a librarian. Lucile was a member of Old Stone Evangelical Church in Amherst. She was one of the founders of the church newsletter, the Beacon. Lucile was a member of Amherst Women's League, SCOA, and Eastern Stars. When her son’s were growing up, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother. In her spare time, Lucille enjoyed playing Pinochle with the church club. She loved to travel with her husband and family around the United States, one of her favorites being Disney World. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and nothing brought her greater joy than the time she spent with them.
Survivors include her children, Debi Diaz (Kris) of Cape Coral, Florida; John W. Hall III (Laura) of Vermilion, David C. Hall (Kay) of Williamsburg, Virginia and Douglas R. Hall of Cape Coral, Florida; her grandchildren, Kimberly Martin (Brian), Jessa Schmitz (Marcus), Jake Diaz (Amanda), Nick Diaz (Hayley), Sarah Hall and Hannah Hall; her great grandchildren, Amarah, Brian, Khloe, Jayce, Josie, Lennon and Nora; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, John William “Bill” Hall on May 5, 2012; her siblings, Donald Zuspan, June Evalyn Park; and her parents, Lawrence and Mary Alice Zuspan (nee: Hoagland).
Friends may call Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com . Burial will follow at Crownhill Cemetery, Amherst.
