Kathleen Elizabeth Boring, 76 years of age, and a resident of Sheffield Village, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at her home.
She was born February 22, 1945 in Long Island, New York. Kathleen lived most of her life in Amherst before moving to Sheffield Village where she has resided until her passing.
Kathleen was a member of New Beginnings Church of Christ in Amherst. Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. Kathleen had a special place in her heart for children and opened her home to foster medically handicapped children for many years. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of fifty-eight years, Lane Boring; her children, William John Boring of San Francisco, Creg Lane Boring (Leona) of Rittman and Heather Ann Meyer (Jay) of Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Megan and Tyler Meyer; and her brother Robert Wieser of Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Weiser.
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Church of Christ, 591 Washington Street, Amherst. Due to Covid-19, we are asking that people wear a mask and be careful to maintain social distancing. The Rev. Matt Raines, pastor, will officiate. Private family burial will take place at Crossroads Cemetery, Monroeville, PA.
