Karen Sue Jones (nee: Ratliff), 66 years of age, and a resident of Oberlin, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 22, 1955, in Roanoke, Virginia. Karen was raised in Vermilion and had moved to Lorain where she lived for twenty years before moving to Oberlin where she had resided for the last five years.
She was employed as a machine operator at Birmingham Metal Products for twenty-seven years before retiring in 2004. Karen loved being outdoors, fishing and going to music concerts. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. Karen had a heart of compassion for animals in need and loved her dog “Buddy”.
Survivors include her husband of forty-eight years, James Jones; her daughter, Jennifer Bray (Ernest) of South Amherst; her granddaughter, Cheyanne Bray; and her great grandson, Ayden Bray.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Ernest Ratliff and Priscella Ratliff; and by her parents, Ernest and Mary Ratliff (nee: Smith).
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, there will be no services.
