John Edward Coles, Jr. “Sarge” born January 20, 1946 went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2021.
He served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967 and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman Badge for rifle and pistol.
John loved his truck and Harley, listening to music and spending time with his family, especially at Christmas time. He was a member of the American Legion and the Open Hearth Club.
He leaves behind his wife, of seventeen years Marilyn (nee: Pittenger); his two sons, Johnny Coles and Michael Coles; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his sister, Katherine (Smitty) of Indian Lake; his brother John Phillip (Cindy) of East Liberty and his sister in law Sandy of East Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Coles; his mother, Beulah McColloch (nee: Lucas); his step father, Robert McColloch; his sister Mona and his brother Robert “Pup” McColloch.
Private burial will be in East Liberty at a later date.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the Embassy Nursing Center.
