Joel Ray Morgan, 54 years of age, and a lifetime resident of Amherst, passed away at his home, after a year long battle with an acute pancreatic attack
He was born March 12, 1969 in Amherst and remained a lifetime resident of Amherst until his passing.
Joe worked at US Steel in Lorain, until he went out on disability. He loved riding his Harley motorcycle and playing his guitar. Joel also enjoyed gardening and reading, especially his Bible which he studied quite extensively.
Survivors include his children, Samuel Morgan and Lillian Morgan both of Vermilion; his mother, Elsie “Bernice” Lavine of Sandusky; his siblings, Mark Morgan of Amherst, Timothy Morgan of North Royalton and Paula Rodriguez of Sandusky; his uncle, Roger Martin of South Amherst; his companion Melinda Musgrave and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Morgan; his paternal grandparents, Bert and Martha Morgan; and his maternal grandparents, Hubert and Ella Mae (Dick) Martin.
Friends may call Friday, August 18, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Private burial will be held by the family.
