Joanne Quillen (nee: Bowens), 76 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at her home following a lengthy illness.
Joanne was born May 10, 1944 in Sandusky where she was raised and spent the past ten years in Amherst.
Joanne worked as a dietary supervisor for Lorain Community Hospital for 20 years. She enjoyed baking and family gathering where she was surrounded by her family.
Survivors include her sisters Linda (Eddie) Jones, Janie McCartney and Cathy Love; brothers Tim Bowens, Rick (Mary) Bowens and Mike (Jane) Bowens.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Johnnie McCann in 1993 and her second husband Zack Quillen in 2003, her sisters Lillian Villarreal, Sharon Winninger, and her parents Herman and Berlie Bowens (nee: Davis).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held at Hempel Funeral Home on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at noon. Due to Covid-19, we are asking that people wear a mask and maintain social distancings guidelines. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/ . Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
