Joan Ives, 59 years of age, a resident of Elyria, and a graduate of Firelands’ High School, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, during a short stay at Keystone Pointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Joan will lovingly be remembered by her daughters Christina (John) Mason of Indian Springs, NV and Victoria (Aaron) Kasarjian of West Jordan, UT; her grandchildren Oliver and Gracie Mason; her friend of many years, Tom Sexton, her brothers James (Shannon ) Ives of North Ridgeville; Martin (Amanda) Ives of Camden Twp; her sisters Diane (Clifford )Wright of Medina; Katherine Smith of Lyndhurst; and Irene (Robert) Hormell of Wellington; sister-in-law Beverly Ives; her brother-in-law Tim Abraham of South Amherst; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Michael Ives and Marjorie Abraham; and her parents Robert and Joyce Ives (nee: Wagatha).
Joan loved well , prayed often, smiled contagiously and was caring with her family. She loved being out in the fresh air with the trees, birds, and could be found doting over her flowers. She was a kind-hearted person. It was apparent throughout Joan’s life that family and friends were constantly in her thoughts, prayers and heart. Although she will be missed by many, she leaves behind some amazing memories. There is comfort in knowing that she is reunited with family members and experiencing joy in Heaven.
As a family, private services will be held to remember Joan.
