Jeanne C. Duncan (nee: Wilson), 90 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family, following a full and meaningful life.
She was born October 7, 1930 in Memphis, Tennessee. Jeanne had made her home in Amherst since 1958.
Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Jeanne loved being a wife, mother and grandmother, and nothing brought her greater joy then the time spent with them. She loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting and traveling.
Survivors include her children, Richard (Lisa) Duncan of Norton, John R. (Sherry) Duncan of Amherst, Linda (Johnny) Chapman of Vermilion, Jenny (Beck) Nichols of Elyria and Jody Byar of Amherst; twenty-one grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren and nineteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband William T. Duncan, Jr. in 1986; her daughter, Deborah Jean Wagner in 2020; one brother and one sister; and her parents John and Isabelle Wilson (nee: Johnson).
Public visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 noon at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst. Due to Covid-19, we are asking that people wear a mask and be careful to maintain social distancing. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at http://www.hempelfuneralhome.com/ . Burial will take place at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon.
