Jean Katheryn Robey

Jean Katheryn Robey (nee: Sandry), 89 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away  peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky, following a full and meaningful life.

 

She  was born September 1, 1932, in  Uhrichsville, Ohio.  Jean graduated from Uhrichsville High School with the class of 1950.   She had made her home in the Amherst area for over fifty years.

 

She was employed as a teacher's aide for the Amherst School System.  Jean volunteered her time at Lorain Community Hospital in Lorain. She loved shopping, going out to eat, and going to movies.  Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed reading books, and the daily newspaper.  Her greatest joy was the time she spent with her family, especially her late husband Thomas. She loved attending all of her children’s sporting events. 

 

Survivors include her sons, Tim Robey (Debbie) of Vermilion and Greg Robey (Sandi) of Amherst; her grandchildren Brooke Robey, Thomas Robey and Jessica Wilkolac; her sister Sue Huff of New Philadelphia.

 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy years, Thomas L. Robey on January 4, 2022; her son Jeff Robey; daughter in law Randi Robey, and her brother Joey Sandry, and her parents Joseph and Pauline Sandry (nee: McClelland).

 

Graveside services will be held Monday June 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 North Ridge Road, Amherst. 

 

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Animal Protective League, 8303 Murray Ridge Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
