Jean “Cookie” Louise Novak (nee: Brown), 88 years of age, and a former resident of Avon, went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on June 15, 2020, at Northridge Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 31, 1932, in Vengango County, Pennsylvania. In 1942, her family moved to Cleveland, Ohio. After her marriage to Richard they made their home in Avon for fifty-seven years. Jean had resided in North Ridgeville for the last four years.
She was a former member of the Church of the Open Door in Elyria.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-seven years Richard Joseph Novak; her children Richard Novak (Kathleen) of Avon, Stephen Novak (Pamela) of Rochester, Thomas Novak (Shaunna) of Colorado and Bret Novak (Mary) of Elyria; twelve grandchildren as well as nine great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Novak in 2012, and her daughter in law Cheryl Novak in 2002; and her parents Ottis and Margurite Brown (nee: Meyers) and sister Joan.
Public funeral services will be held at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. on Thursday, evening June 25, 2020, by reservation at https://signup.com/go/cwPjONp or by calling 440-988-4451.
