Jayne Ann Murray

Jayne Ann Murray (nee: Lach), 71 years of age, and a resident of New Russia Township, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born July 25, 1948 in Amherst. For most of her life, Jayne had made her home in the Amherst area.

Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Jayne loved the time she spent designing and building her home with her family twenty four years ago in New Russia Township. She worked part time at Murray Ridge in Elyria. Jayne had a love for bowling which began in the early 70’s at Park Lanes in Amherst and enjoyed traveling with friends to bowling tournaments. She loved gardening and observing wildlife, especially bird watching. Jayne enjoyed vacationing with her husband Jay, especially traveling to California to visit her son Jerret.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-six years Jay Murray, Sr., her sons Jay Jr. Murray (Wendy) of Wellington and Jerret Murray (David) of Los Angeles; her grandchildren Makayla, Jay III, Kyle and Nick; and her sister Kay Schuster of Amherst; and her niece and caregiver Rhonda Wells.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Doris Lach (nee: Braun).

Private family funeral services will be held at Hempel Funeral Home, 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst, Ohio. PUBLIC LIVE STREAMING of the funeral service will be available at www.hempelfuneralhome.com on June 16, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. by selecting the live stream tab to gain access. Rebroadcasting of services will be available at YOUTUBE/Hempel Funeral Home. The Rev. Fr. David Trask, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic in Oberlin will officiate. Burial will take place at New Russia Township, Oberlin.
