Janice Harriett Sellers

Janice Harriett Sellers (nee: Dean), 90 years of age, and a resident of Elyria, passed away suddenly   Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain following a brain hemorrhage .

She was born January 13, 1930 in South Point, Ohio. Janice had lived most of her life in Elyria. She was part of the 100th graduating class of Elyria High School with the class of 1948. She enjoyed organizing and attending her high school reunions. 

She was employed as an appliance scheduler at Sears in Elyria for twenty-seven years.  Janice was one of the founding “charter” members of Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Amherst. She was very involved with the  Bible Study Fellowship, and was a supporter of the Cornerstone Crisis Pregnancy Center in Elyria. She enjoyed travelling throughout the years with her husband David. Janice had a true love for her country and for her God.  

Survivors include her husband of sixty-eight years, David Theodore Sellers; her children David P. Sellers (Lisa) of Amherst, Sarah “Jane” Stallings (Ed) of Elyria, Deborah H. Herring (Richard) of Ft. Meyers, FL; her grandchildren Greg Stallings, Jeanette Pycraft, Scott Stevenson, Amy Cassidy, Amanda Yarham, Erin Montgomery, Jonathan Sellers and Megan Lyngass; twenty-seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; and her brother Robert Hazen Dean (Carol)  of Elyria.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Jennifer Leigh Sellers; and her parents John Hazen Dean and Alice Dean Erwin (nee: Mann).

Public visitation and funeral for family and friends will be held Friday, November 13, 2020 late afternoon and evening by reservation at https://signup.com/go/OvvAEpN or by calling 440-988-4451 during business hours, at Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst.  Rebroadcasting of services will be available at YOUTUBE/Hempel Funeral Home. Chris Reutepohler, senior pastor of Trinity Evangelical Free Church, will officiate.  Burial will take place at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 11:00 am.
