Jane Harrington Rice

Jane Harrington Rice, 89 years of age, and a resident of Vermilion, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Mill Manor in Vermilion following a full and meaningful life.

She was born August 13, 1931, in Englewood, New Jersey where she was raised until the age of 19.  Jane moved to Ohio in 1950, where she lived for three years, before moving back to New Jersey in 1952. In 1955, she moved to California and returned back to Ohio in 1998 where she had resided until her passing. 

Her primary focus in life was that of a homemaker. Jane was a Music Major at Baldwin Wallace College.  She was an accomplished pianist and loved teaching others. Jane was a devout believer and follower of Christ and a member of Faith Baptist Church in Amherst where she was active with the music programs, in choir and solo’s. She was extraordinarily gifted with fashion which she used in retail. Jane was active with TOPS weight loss where she was a successful participant and chapter leader.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel G. Rice (Susan) of Vero Beach, FL, Stephen R. Rice of Vermilion, and Mark W. Rice (Joyce) of Glendale, AZ; five grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years, Ronald Eugene Rice in 1995; her son, David Allen Rice in 1956; her sister, Grace Heusser; and her parents, Daniel Webster and Cammile Joan Harrington (nee: Marione).

Services will be held at Eternal Hills Mortuary in Oceanside CA. later in March of this year.
