James Willis Abbott, Jr., 51 years of age, and a resident of South Amherst, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020, at his home, following a sudden illness.
He was born September 8, 1968, in Lorain, Ohio. James attended school in, and was a lifetime resident of South Amherst.
He owned and operated J&J Construction for over thirty years and was an accomplished drywaller. James loved being outdoors fishing, working on cars and he enjoyed collecting Eagles. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children Monica Patterson of Wellington, Meghan Carlisle (Tyler) of Virginia, Merissa Abbott of Wakman and Ryan Sterna of Amherst; his mother Donna J. Abbott of South Amherst; his grandchildren Kade Wilson and Bailee Nissen; his sisters Lisa Nehls and Teresa Terry both of Lorain as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son James Allen Abbott in 1990, and his father James Willis Abbott, Sr. in 1995.
Services will be held Saturday, October 10th, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Kipton Center; 417 State Street, Kipton, Ohio.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made directly to the family to defer burial expenses.
