Homer E. Lilley
Obituary
Homer E. Lilley, 97 years of age, and a resident of Amherst, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Ames Hospice Center in Westlake, following a full and blessed life.
He was born December 12, 1925 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Homer had made Amherst his home for the last seventy years.
He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II, serving as the squad leader in Germany as a rifleman and machine gunner. Homer was employed as a Regional manager at Chevron/Texaco for fifty-five years before retiring. He was known to be very independent and a hard worker. Homer loved everyone and never asked anyone for anything.
Survivors include his children, Britt Lilley (Song) and Leslie Dunfee both of Amherst; his grandchildren Ashley (Dan), Blake and Sujin and seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene and Jim Lilley; and his parents, Charles H. and Edna Lilley (Hughes).
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 3700 Center Road, Avon.
